COPS Moves Forward on Hiring

The COPS Office was recently authorized to move forward with a FY 2010 Hiring Program that will award nearly $300 million to address the full-time sworn officer needs of state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies nationwide and to increase their capacity to participate in community policing. In FY 2010, COPS will select hiring program grantees from the existing pool of approximately 6,000 2009 COPS Hiring Recovery Program (CHRP) applications. Read More...
