The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) presented
the 2006 National Community Policing Conference - Community
Policing: Leading the Way to a Safer Nation. The conference was
held at the Hilton Washington and Towers Hotel July 27-29, 2006 in
Washington, D.C.
Our conference featured more than 48 insightful workshops grouped into seven subject tracks offering leadership strategies: Leading in Change, Leading in Innovation, Leading in Crisis, Leading in Integrity, Leading in Science and Technology, Ahead of the Curve, and Contemporary Issues in Community Policing. The workshops in each track addressed critical law enforcement and community issues and emphasized the role of community policing in the future of law enforcement. The diverse agenda offered something for command and patrol-level enforcement personnel, state and local executives, criminal justice professionals, educators, community leaders, and others interested in the implementation and future direction of community policing. |
