The Third Annual Colorado Drug Endangered Children Conference will examine the various harms to children as a result of their exposure to substance use, distribution, and manufacturing/cultivation as well as help us all to increase our ability to impact these families and make a difference for children. This conference will feature law enforcement specific breakout sessions and a keynote entitled No Child Left Behind by Lieutenant Eric Nation. Lt. Nation began his career in law enforcement in 1995 with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
Since
2007, he has been assigned as the Commander of the Mid Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Taskforce – Eastside,
which is a multi-jurisdictional undercover narcotics unit in Central Iowa. Over the last 3 years, Lt.
Nation has helped start and develop the Jasper County Drug Endangered Children program. Lt. Nation
is a member of the National DEC Criminal Justice Working Group, Iowa DEC Steering Committee, and
the Chair of Jasper County DEC. A recent recipient of the 2011 National DEC Collaborative Leadership
Award, Lt. Nation is a Certified Core DEC Instructor and has been involved in the training of thousands
of professionals across the Nation.
