Audit Resolution

Grantees are sometimes audited to determine whether they have complied with the programmatic, financial, and reporting requirements associated with COPS awards.

DOJ Office of the Inspector General (OIG) conducts independent and objective audits. The intent of these audits is to prevent and detect waste, fraud and abuse, as well as to keep the agency head and Congress fully and currently informed of their findings. The COPS Office serves as the liaison between grantees and auditors in the conduct and resolution of OIG audits.
