Community Partnerships CD
Defining community policing can be a difficult task because many experts in the policing
and criminal justice fields have different understandings of exactly what it is. Community
policing, however, can be more easily identified by understanding three core elements:
problem solving, organizational change, and community partnerships. The resources on
this CD will help explain these various aspects of community policing, which together
represent a proactive, preventive approach to controlling crime and increasing public
safety.
