From the Editors
Have you visited the COPS Office web site lately?
You may have noticed this month’s launch of the new web site featuring a brighter, more engaging look and feel. The new site also includes an improved navigation structure to make it easier to find information such as deadlines for grant applications, publications on community policing, and contact information. Work will continue on the web site throughout the summer to ensure that the revised version is accurate, current, easy to use, and comprehensive.
But what is really exciting is that this summer the Community Policing Dispatch will be getting a new look as well! Some new features are already in place, including a new navigation button on the COPS web site to make the Dispatch easy to find.
Another big change is the launch of GovDelivery, which will replace and expand the subscription service. Not only will you be able to sign up to receive the Dispatch each month, but you’ll also be able to manage your subscriptions to other COPS Office products, like upcoming events, funding opportunities, and new podcasts.
What does this mean for you, our reader? If you already subscribe to the Dispatch, you don’t need to do anything at this time. Your subscription will migrate to the new service and you’ll continue to receive the Dispatch each month. You will have the opportunity to add additional notifications to your subscription, but that is entirely up to you. If you’re not already a Dispatch subscriber, now is the perfect time to start! To be one of the first to see all our upcoming improvements, simply click here to sign up for a new subscription through GovDelivery today.
